Stainless Steel Corner Guards and the Theatre

by Boss Steel on July 22, 2016

The theatre, the theatre, what's happened to the theatre?

Thus sang Danny Kaye in the 1954 classic film White Christmas. In the song "Choreography," Kaye laments changes taking place in the "modern" theatre. Meanwhile, all around him, dancers engage in a breathtaking display of the time period's most cutting-edge dance moves. The question we plan to raise today is similar: What could happen at the theatre, and how can stainless steel corner guards help?

Of course, we could never hope to address all that could happen in the theatre in such a limited space as this. Generally speaking, however, anything and everything that you can imagine takes place every night in theatres around the country. Men and women sing, dance, "fly" on wires, fight, fall in love, break one another's hearts, juggle flaming torches, and accidentally fall offstage mid-act.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, the actors, stage managers, costume and set designers, and various assistants race around through narrow corridors, like so many over-excited hamsters in a set of tubes. They ferry clothes racks and props through narrow passages, turning themselves by sideways to avoid others coming the other direction. Actors slip behind the curtains for quick-change acts, while meanwhile the stage manager dashes past with a cup of coffee and a clipboard, whisper-shouting instructions into her headset, barking at the tech crew to bring up spot light on her cue.

What's happening at the theatre? Everything at once.

What will protect your doorways and entryways from such chaos? A few sets of stainless steel corner guards. These sturdy, stylish guards will be a welcome addition to any backstage area, simultaneously protecting your corners while bringing a touch of class.

If you have questions about which sizes, styles, or thickness of guards would be right for your backstage area, don't hesitate to contact us. We look forward to serving you.
