Industrial Corner Guards: Because Less Isn't Always More

by Boss Steel on October 26, 2018

Here in North America, English speakers have become accustomed to the phrase "Less is more." It's become such a popular saying because in many cases, it's true.

When Less Is More

Most people recognize that there are definitely situations in which less equals more: that is, situations in which eliminating one thing leads to greater achievements in other areas. For example, one person who's chosen to live a minimalist lifestyle has claimed that "Spending less time on cleaning or shopping means I have more time to spend with friends, go out, or travel on my days off. I have become a lot more active."

Consider this list of other areas in which less can be more:

  • Eliminating Debt
  • Achieving Weight Loss Goals
  • Carefully Scheduling Appointments to Create Free Time

Of course, there are definitely situations in which this principle doesn't apply.

When Less Is Less

Just as there are areas in which less can equal more, there are clear contradictions to the rule. Likely few of us would state that we're in the market for less money, fewer brain cells, a more limited access to water and oxygen, and a smaller food supply.

Just as we don't want to decrease our access to the elements essential for life, we also don't want to skimp on our basic protections. That's why we who own businesses pay attention to preventative maintenance, enroll in good insurance programs, and install corner guards to protect against scratches, scrapes, and other forms of incidental damage.

While it might be tempting to buy the least expensive and most basic style of corner guard, there are definitely situations in which a less sturdy guard (while perfectly suitable in other contexts) just might not be enough. That's why we carry our Industrial Corner Guards. Thicker and more sturdy than our other aluminum and stainless steel guards, they're the perfect choice for heavy-duty work areas.
